My photography is about storytelling. I am drawn to visual moments that capture emotion, beauty, gesture, resilience, gentleness, smallness, grandeur, pain, or achievement. Whether it’s the expressive faces of people, the grandeur of nature, the elegance of architecture, or the subtle beauty in everyday scenes, I strive to tell compelling stories through my lens.

Traveling to over sixty countries has immersed me in diverse cultures, languages, and the shared experiences of both suffering and joy. My imagination is sparked by the interplay of shape, form, lines, light, shadow, and contrast. As a global traveler and photographer, my lens serves as a tool for seeing the world, its spaces, and its people with enlightened respect.

My passion for creating images began in 1974 with a Canon AE-1, capturing Ektachrome slides and developing black-and-white film in a high school darkroom. Decades later, the digital age has only expanded my love for photography, allowing me to create images that evoke deep emotion and connection.

I make my home in the stunning Pacific Northwest with my wonderful spouse, Joy. My life is enriched by family, grandchildren, and the ongoing joy of photography and travel. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me reading, playing acoustic guitar and electric bass, or reflecting on God’s creation.
